I Fucked Up…BAD

24 Mar

Loverboy and I got into our first MAJOR argument a few days ago.  It’s not even worth to get into what it was about, but I will tell you what I said…

Right now, you remind me of my ex-husband!!

Not.  The.  Right.  Thing.  To.  Say.

He whipped around faster then I ever have seen him, and said in a deadly quiet voice:

You compare me to HIM??  A wife-beater?  How is that to make me feel?  What am I supposed to do with that?

I tried back-pedaling.  I tried explaining.  I made it worse.

I fucked up, and I fucked up bad.

The next day I tried talking to him, and all he said was that he was still bothered.  I left him alone.

I called the day after, he still sounded strained.  I told him I missed him, and he hung up.

Today, things finally seem a little bit better, but not normal.  However, we are still keeping our plans for tomorrow, so that will be the test.

How could I be so stupid??

Love, Esme

Ouch, no you did not say that!!!!

I’m going to guess it was just a heated moment and he very we’ll may have said or been acting similar but damn E, it’s going to be some work for him to get over it. Best believe things are going to seem “not quite right”.

The feeling when a man is aloof and shutting you out when you just want to make amends is some tough shit to stomach.

I hope it doesn’t take him too long and hope today’s get together went relaitvely we’ll.

    Good luck.

Oh, I sure did. And as soon as I said it, I wanted to take it back. Because in all honesty, I didn’t mean it.

      Today will tell all…

Just give him some time, and be prepared to explain/apologize. It’s so hard not to let the past interfere when I am furious, I know!

Tell him what you tell us.

Then tell him you will do whatever needed to make it up to him, because you know how fucked up that was, and he just needs to tell you how to fix it.

Give him space. But don’t give up.

Shitballs. We all fuck up. Good luck, love.

Speak your peace
